Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland is also extremely involved with girl’s education programs, especially in third world countries and high poverty regions. She is a board member of Educate Girls Globally (EGG) and the Mariposa DR Foundation, both of which are organizations designed to help young women rise above the lives they would have naturally, and become forces for immediate and long-term economic and cultural change in their cultures. As a member of EGG O'Reilly-Hyland used her management skills to help create a model for the organization’s goal to educate girls globally, based off of a successful test run in India. Later that year, O'Reilly-Hyland brokered a deal that allowed the organization to begin helping girls in Africa.
Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland is also a member of the X-Prize foundation, an organization which promotes the advancement of humanity by offering substantial cash prizes as awards for people who can stimulate changes in some way in any of the following fields: alternative energy, environmentalism, exploration, global development, education, and medicine and life sciences. Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland is involved with Fabretto, an organization on a mission to empower children in Nicaragua to improve their nation. Fabretto operates through improving education and healthcare.
Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland is a member of the Triathlon Charity team and participates in many charitable events outside of her organizations. Since becoming a public figure due to her philanthropy, Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland has held open discussions about the need for girls’ education as a global norm. O'Reilly-Hyland hosted the launch of a book, “Abundance: The Future is Better Than You Think,” which was designed to serve as direction for people looking to improve the world, but unsure of how to go about it.
Joelle O'Reilly-Hyland serves as an example of how a person can use their private success as a means for generating worldwide good, as well as how a person can dedicate their life to philanthropy, while focusing on the issues that concern oneself as an individual. As a successful woman, O'Reilly-Hyland has shown that her deepest concern is the education and elevation of young girls and women in impoverished areas where the female gender is inherently disadvantaged.
